2021 Maintenance Extravaganza

Maintenance Conference
Prairie Meadows’s REAC Award

Pedcor Management Corporation hosted a conference for their maintenance teams called Maintenance Extravaganza. It included a day full of training and awards. Learn more about the details of the 2021 Maintenance Extravaganza and the award recipients by reading below.

What is the 2021 Maintenance Extravaganza?

Pedcor Management Corporation’s first maintenance conference was in 2019. It was in-person at our corporate campus in Carmel, Indiana. Because of COVID-19, the 2021 Maintenance Extravaganza was hosted virtually. It was a three-day event from coast to coast. The 86 apartment communities were separated into four regions and each team attended one day. Regions one and two were combined for their conference day. We had 165 of our remarkable employees attend the training.

Conference Day

The maintenance teams had a fun-filled day consisting of modules, discussions, and award presentations. Our corporate teams created video modules consisting of HVAC, moisture management, make-ready final walks, and REAC. HVAC refers to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning which is a system providing heating and cooling for residential and commercial buildings. Moisture management refers to preventing water intrusion and condensation in areas that must remain dry. Make ready finals walks refer to confirming everything is in order and ready for our move-in ready resident(s). REAC refers to Real Estate Assessment Center which is HUD’s hands-on inspection to test the function of all inspectable items for proper operations. The score of this inspection is out of 100%. Some apartment communities received certification from HUD’s REAC score and two of our apartment communities received awards from our company regarding it.

Employee training and recognition is an important piece of what we do here. The three-day conference helped our maintenance team learn more about their job while receiving a package with their awards, Pedcor Management hats, and coffee-insulated coffee mugs, notepads, koozies, and more. A comment from Rhonda Stephens, our Assistant Director of Maintenance, includes “training is what we do.” Our corporate teams believe in the professional development of each on-site employee across all of our apartment communities. Thank you to you all our Pedcor Management employees who attended our 2021 Maintenance Extravaganza!
